Bond Exchanges
Prior to ten months following their issue date, Regular-Interest Bonds may be exchanged for the same denominations in Compound-Interest Bonds of the same series.
Compound-Interest Bonds of all series may be exchanged for Regular-Interest Bonds of the same series at any time until maturity, beginning at denominations of $300. You may also exchange your bonds for other denominations.
There are no charges for this service, although some financial institutions may require the bond owner to cover incidentals, such as postage or courier expenses. For complete details on how to exchange your bonds, contact any financial institution or contact Customer Service.
